About

Come sleep in one of our Geronimo tipis! The tipis are amazing. There are 5 in total surrounding a stock tank pond located on 4.5 acres (Geronimo Creek Retreat) that borders the beautiful spring-fed Geronimo Creek. Great for family getaways or rent all 5 tipis for larger groups! They look like a traditional tipi from the outside but inside they are fully furnished and have all the conveniences of modern day living including air conditioning, heating, basic satellite TV, kitchenette with sink, under-counter refrigerator, stove top and extra large toaster oven. Each Tipi comes with its own private bathroom with a large walk in tiled shower. The bathroom is located in a separate building, all of the tipis have their own private bathroom.

Geronimo Creek Retreat is an oasis of peace and fun nestled in the pecan trees overlooking a babbling creek in the heart of nature and on the edge of Texas Hill Country. We also have 4 tree-house cabins (1 bedroom with a loft) on the property and a 3 bedroom house for rent, these properties can also be found on the HomeAway site and our website.

Do you long to swim and fish in the creek like you were a kid again? Want to throw some horseshoes or drink a cold one while you chill out in a lawn chair enjoying the feel of warm Texas sunshine on your face? Envision your own cozy tipi with plush furniture, fully equipped kitchenette, private bathroom and gorgeous view, not to mention BBQ pit for grilling, picnic table and fire pit for chatting or just relaxing with your friends and family. Imagine escaping from the real world for a while.

The retreat also has a community game room with big screen TV, ping pong table and a large covered area with picnic tables and a community hot tub. The creek has excellent fishing. We have a dock with kayaks and kayaks for guests use. We also keep tubes, lawn and lounge chairs, and life jackets for your convenience.

My granddaughters were intrigued with staying in a ti-pi. They loved it. They enjoyed the river swing the older folk needed to keep the young people fed and happy. The ti-pi had spider webs from who knows when under tables, behind couch etc and the sink kept bubbling who knows what up the drain and into the sink.YUCK! The provided dishes were not clean either. Maybe the housekeepers need to check to be sure previous occupants leave the dishes really clean! The game room would have been nice if there would have been ANY balls and enough unbroken paddles for the ping pong table, ANY pucks for the shuffleboard table, and if all the balls for the pool table had been there. The bathroom was clean and towels were well stocked. The grounds were properly kept. The area around the river was very nice. There were plenty of well cared for river boats, paddle boards, inner tubes and life jackets.

Not sure of my expectations but they were not met...

I thought the experience would be very neat with the tipis and the creek right there but it was not the best. When we showed up, there were cats everywhere and they would not leave you alone. The 'stocked tank' in front of our tipis was disgusting and the dock was falling into the water. Our tipi was musty and humid when we first arrived. When we got to the creek, we had to go down and pick up all the kayaks and paddle boards because they were strung out everywhere. They also allowed a guest to have a teenage birthday party there and they over took the creek and area. There were lights out in our bathroom and the cats would run in when you opened the door. Just not a great experience at all.

We had a wonderful experience and are already planning our second trip. Our only comments would be the water by our teepee was covered in algae - not so pretty. Also, our folding chair was taken from our sitting area - bummer.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. There were a few minor details that could have been attended to. There was a light out in the restroom and some obvious wear/water damage there. The sofa bed linens were filthy and unusable. The actual property was really neat and a great place for kids to explore. Just a little extra maintenance and attention to detail would really make it a great place for the price. And also an on site manager or office area would be helpful. Never seeing any employees around was kind of odd.

Well when we arrived it was not what we saw in the pictures. We got settled in and were making the best of things out tipi didnt have a covered area to be outside while it was raining. The night ended up ok until the next morning when the person in tipi 4 came over accusing us of stealing his things he did not say what we had small children and he was cursing and saying we moved his table he went on and on just being rude and nasty to us. The night before i caught 2 girls in our bathroom. We were so upset we just began to gather out things to leave the man was just being awful and we didnt want our kids listening to this fool. The man continued to say he called the cops on us while he were getting our stuff in our vehicle he was just standing by the gate staring at us and still using curse words he was getting our license plate number so we had to call the police also. We found out from the officer he was accusing us of stealing his liquor his son had came to us earlier and said he was sorry and embarrassed for his dads behavior that he had been drinking for days and was not doing well. The officer let us go and he stayed with the man in tipi 3.

Oh what fun. Took my sister there for grandma time and to celebrate her 76th birthday. We were so prepared for our glamping trip. We even bought fishing poles and bait to use in the pond in front of our teepee. Sadly to say the pond was disgusting. It was so covered with green algee I dont know how anything could live in it let alone swim as advertised. Other than our disappointment not being able to use the pond, it was a relaxing had fun trying out our grilling skills and building a campfire to make smores.

The best 3 days! The kids were entertained with free use of kayaks, paddle boards, the game room ,rope swing in the river, property bbq pits, & lawn furniture plenty for all to use great place for a family getaway. Tipi #4 needs better outside patio set up all the other tipis had lounging furniture & pit in the front close to tipi, bathrooms so clean & stocked bath towels, conveniently close to tipi, bring your own firewood.! Overall best close getaway ever we already told all our friends & family, we are coming back for sure(Wi-Fi very bad download movies/music before coming out)

We had a great time visiting Geronimo Creek Resort. The amenities were great. The tipi and restroom were clean and well-maintained;although the tipi did have a musty odor. The pond was green and unusable, but we enjoyed swimming, floating, and kayaking in the creek. I would recommend Geronimo Creek to friends and relatives. In fact, we are already planning a return trip soon.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay - but did notice a few things that were disconcerting.
Upon arrival, we visited the game room. When we returned the next day, the sofa, foosball table had disappeared!
The bushed around the Tipis were so overgrown that we had to push them back to use the trail.
The pond in front of Tipis was covered in green, mossy slim.
Guests in neighboring Tipis were still up past midnight being very loud and using the pit area behind our Tipis, leaving it littered with beer caps, cigarette butts (and even a joint), that we had to clean up the next day since it was our assigned area.
We had three young children (2yrs - 5yrs), and they enjoyed the experience - but we felt it was better suited for older children.

Geronimo Creek Retreat was the perfect relaxing weekend getaway with extended family. The kids had a blast running around outside with their cousins and enjoyed ping pong, kayaking, volleyball, basketball, and the hot tub. I enjoyed lying in a hammock and staring up at the clouds and reading in a peaceful outdoor setting. Our teepee was clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back.

This was our first time camping in a tepee and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Having kids who needed to potty in the middle of the night, it was a bit annoying walking to the private bathrooms as they are not located behind Tipi 4. All of the other tepee's have nice gravel walk-ways, but Tipi 4 is the farthest away and you have to walk through wet grass or in front of the other tepee's to get to the restrooms. We were also disappointed in the "stocked" pond. My son had five poles going at one time for 2.5 days and only caught one little fish. He used a variety of lures and bait and different depths of line, but left a frustrated boy. Besides those two negatives, we had a relaxing and fun Easter break.

Why isn't it spelled teepee?

We rented a teepee for my b-day only to have it fall on the coldest, wettest days of the month. We loved our little teepee & the cute little kitties who greeted us at the door, but we were unable to enjoy the outdoors albeit the surrounding area was gorgeous in any weather. We had to leave early & were pleasantly surprised when we were offered credit for another stay (which we WILL use in the spring or summer). Thanks for the fun experience

The tipis are novel and fun for kids. They had all the amenities that anyone would need. My son fished and kayaked and had a blast! The internet didnt extend far enough to our Tipi, which was on the edge of the property. So it doesnt really have free WiFi. The refrigerator was so frozen up with ice in the freezer part that it wasnt cooling effectively. I did submit maintenance and they were quick to deal with it the next day. But, we needed a frig when we first got there, so I thawed it out and did it myself. Poor regular maintenance and upkeep. The beds had dirt all in the sheets when we first got there. Cats run everywhere on the property, they try to get in the tipis, and annoy you when you are outside. The restrooms need better ventilation. Mold was growing all over the bathroom wall and it was nasty smelly from that.

I surprised my son with a overnight camping event for me and the family. Everyone was so impressed with everything. The kids loved that they could fish, swim, kayak, and play basketball on the properity. We enjoyed that each Tipi had it's own BBQ and fire pit so we were able to make s'mores. Overall we would definitely return and stay longer. It was so peaceful, quiet, and most importantly everyone pretty much kept to themselves which you don't find very often. Great views and amenities.

My family has a great time. The creek, kayaks, rope swings made for a memorable experience. The only complaints that I have is the coffee maker was barely operational, took forever to brew, the freezer needs to be thawed in between guests, the rope swing retrieval rope can give a nasty rope burn if you dont pay attention.

The Tipi we stayed in was the perfect size for our family of 5. two in each bed and one on the pullout. I really liked that the small kitchenette had everything we needed from dishes to silverware to dish soap. We cant wait to come back agian.

Loved everything about this place. I didn't have to go talk to anyone and everyone that was there kept to there own. I thought the bathroom was going to suck having to walk to it but it really didn't. The only thing is, is why you have to pay a cleaning fee when they ask you to clean all your own stuff. I would recommend you offer something like a metal scoop to get the ashes out of the grill. I didn't mind cleaning up I was just curious. Thank you for having us out we enjoyed our stay!

Brought my son and his friends to stay for his birthday. They had a blast. There was never a moment they were not doing something. The kids played in the creek all day. The kayak and rope swing were a plus. In the evening we used the game room and hot tub. We also built a fire at night in the great big fire pit by the tipi. The tipi was nice and spacious. The beds were comfortable and the tipi was very clean and stayed cool in the hot Texas heat. We will definitely return. This is a great place for families.

My daughter and I did a Mother/Daughter trip and stayed in Tipi#4. We had a great time. The tipi is very spacious. It did have a little musty smell, but we got use to it quickly. It's right on a lake. So peaceful. Tipi #4 does not have a fire pit in the front like the others, instead it has a huge fire pit in the back with lots of chairs. We enjoyed making hot dogs and marshmallows. There were wild cats on the property too (about 12). My daughter had a great time trying to pet them and named them all. Our tipi was the farthest from the parking and away from the bathhouse, so it was very quiet. And if you close the shade on the window, it is very dark while sleeping too. I tried fishing but the fish just ate all my bait. The only problem that we had was trying to get the bathroom door open. The lock was a little tricky. You have to put the code in and then turn the lock portion to the right and also use some shoulder power (it sticks a little). But, I called the phone number and someone was there to let me know what to do. This is great for a family trip or girls getaway. Bring wood.

My husband & I totally enjoyed our time spent at Geronimo Creek Retreat!!We loved the privacy,& we were able to relax and enjoy our time together without someone constantly checking on us. There was someone available if we needed something, but otherwise we were left alone. The property was clean, and the tee pee was absolutely amazing!!! The surroundings were perfect for us, & we enjoyed every second that we were there!! We cooked all of our own meas, which was wonderful. We love to cook outside, & this was perfect. We utilized the fire pit, as well as the bar-b-q pit. We have already recommended this place to several of our friends & relatives who are already planning to go. My husband & I are definitely planning to go again, & maybe this time try staying in a tree house.

The rope swings were well used and worn them out to give grandma a break. Be sure to take firewood & charcoal as store was out of it. There were a couple kayaks and floats which we were able to use. Location of Geronimo Creek is great. Close to New Braunfels, San Antonio & San Marcos. Thank you for a GREAT getaway vacation!!

This place was lots of fun. Teepee was very spacious and clean. We did have an issue with a fan not working and a leak in kitchen sink, property management came in right away to correct issue. Game room was spacious, very cool for a hot July day, along with full frig. We enjoyed the creek, swimming, kayaking, pedal boats, rope swing, fishing. It was ok. Interesting to spend some time in a teepee. The river and seeing were think to play in. Lots of wood cats around and not a very big place. Probably best for families with younger kids that are very good swimmers. My kids loved it.

It made for a great family get away! i have a 10, 7 and a 5 year old and each of them had a blast! Family was never bored with kayaking, basketball, game room, campfire and bbq picnic fun. The accommodations in the tipi were very comfortable, clean and convenient. I would def recommend going to the grocery store to get food to bbq, a quick start fire log and lighter fluid before hand. The rental provides everything you need! very great family getaway never had to leave the retreat!

Our stay at Geronimo Creek Tipi Retreat was amazing. The description of the rental was right on. The tipi was clean, I loved the private bathroom, and the entire property was nice and clean. We loved the city of Seguin and we will go back to Geronimo Creek.

Geronimo Creek retreat was an unexpected little paradise! Just what me and my family needed to get away from the city without having to spend all of our time driving or flying somewhere. It is truly camping at its finest! The tipis were so comfy and cozy and if you forgot anything at home they had it there already. This place drew us to the outdoors again. The kayaks, the swimming, the campfires and fishing were just what we needed. Even having the restroom separate kind of threw us off at first, but after we got settled in it made me feel like the days when I was little camping with my family in the woods, yet walking to a nice air conditioned private restroom with all amenities was awesome! We can't wait to come back!

The weather was not great so we didn't get to do much of the outdoor stuff. But my son loved the tipi and hasn't stopped talking about it. It was clean and comfortable. It was a good trip.

We drove down from Dallas to spend 2 nights in the Soaring Eagle tipi. It was fantastic. The property itself is gorgeous. The creek access is great. Good swimming, good kayaking. It was a short drive to New Braunfels for a day trip floating the river. Feels very isolated, but relatively close to civilization, should you need anything. When we come back, we want to stay in the tree houses!!!!

We had a fun short stay in one of the Tipi's. We have stayed in one of the Treehouses before when we had a bigger group. We love staying at Geronimo creek and look forward to coming back again and again.

My family loved staying here. We were able to access our tipi early in the day. The rope swing, kayaks, paddle board and game room kept us playing all afternoon. We didn't have time to play horseshoes or bags. The property is clean and well manicured. The tipi was cozy and big enough for our family of five. It was a great experience and we will be back !!

This little gem is a great place to enjoy being off the beaten path in surroundings that are not your norm...yet you are just a quick drive to all that is fun and waiting to be explored. We were impressed with our time at Geronimo Creek Retreat.

What a relaxing weekend! The tipis were so cute and comfortable! Too bad there was a thunderstorm and scared us all, but there was no flooding nor did the tipis shake and the next day was just beautiful! My parents loved it and so did my kids. We are planning another weekend during the summer to enjoy the lake.

Overall a very positive experience, our first time in a Tipi. The Tipi was very clean and surprisingly spacious. Though it would have been nice to have a microwave. The area is beautiful where its located right next to Geronimo creek. Every morning, and I get up early, I saw at least 10-15 deer, and a bobcat just across the fence separating us from private property, you could also hear a flock of turkey gobbling around dawn every day. The property is only about 10 min from Seguin. We had a great time, will probably do it again!
